Professional Interests: Soft-tissue surgery, emergency medicine, mixed-animal care, and veterinary practice management

Meet Dr. Torre

Dr. Christopher Torre grew up in Medford, New Jersey, and developed an interest in veterinary medicine after welcoming his family’s first dog when he was eight years old. Today, he especially enjoys working with a variety of species, combining medical and surgical care, and finding solutions to unique veterinary cases.

Dr. Torre graduated from Shawnee High School before attending Cornell University, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in Animal Science and Biology in 2007. He graduated with honors and distinction in research and went on to earn his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.

During vet school, Dr. Torre served as class president for four years, and two years President of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. He's worked with local animal shelters and participated in international veterinary service trips to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, and Thailand.

Community service has remained an important part of Dr. Torre’s career. He has volunteered at wildlife rehabilitation centers and Philadelphia-area animal shelters, worked with local 4-H programs to introduce children to farm animals, and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House with his therapy dog, Gus. Dr. Torre has also served as the veterinarian of record for the Burlington County Animal Shelter and the Animal Welfare Association.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Torre enjoys spending time with his wife, Nicole, who is also a veterinarian, their two children, and their pets. He also enjoys farming, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
